Mrs. Marcy Ringdahl, Principal of Independence Academy, previously served as the Assistant Principal of IA prior to transferring to Riverview Academy of Math and Science (RAMS) where, as Principal, she was responsible for the new school’s opening with over 800 students. Under her leadership RAMS successfully grew into an "A" rated school where she focused on academic performance, faculty support, and parent communication.
Mrs. Ringdahl holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, a Master’s Degree in Literacy and Assessment Reading Education, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.
MISSION
The mission of Independence Academy is to provide students with a challenging program which emphasizes scientific inquiry, critical thinking, understanding of mathematical concepts and effective communication using innovative, reform-based instructional methods in a stimulating and nurturing environment that fosters maximum student achievement.

Independence Academy is an Cognia accredited educational institution. Accreditation through Cognia indicates that Independence Academy has met rigorous, research- based standards of educational excellence to ensure the education program offered at Independence Academy meets the needs of learners through proficiency in Leadership Capacity, Learning Capacity, and Resource Capacity. Using these standards, Independence Academy targets areas in each domain for continuous improvement in creating student success.
