Jack Burkett is currently serving as the Principal at Independence Academy (IA) in Dover, Florida. He has been in this role for 2 years. Prior to becoming the Principal at IA, Mr. Burkett served as the Principal and Assistant Principal for 2 years at Orange County Preparatory Academy (OCPA). Before operating as an administrator with Charter School Associates, Mr. Burkett served in various schools in Florida and Indiana since 2009 as a Teacher, Athletic Director, and Athletic Coach. In his spare time Mr. Burkett has worked with the Special Olympics of Florida, Florida's USA Wrestling Association, and the Boy Scouts of America Cub Scout Program. Mr. Burkett holds a Masters' Degree in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix and is certified in the State of Florida in Education Leadership, Exceptional Student Education, and Mathematics. He is currently enrolled in the University of the Cumberlands Doctorate in Educational Leadership program.
