Dear Independence Families,

It's hard to believe we are nearly at the midpoint of quarter one! Progress monitoring assessments have begun, and students and teachers are settling into what promises to be a dynamic year of learning.

As we move forward, please remind your student of the Patriots Way:

- Being prepared for class and ready to learn

- Having a positive attitude and a mindset of growth

- Showing respect and responsibility at all times

Additionally, we will continue to encourage kindness as a key value. Social isolation and unkind actions often lead to disruptions during the school day, and at Independence, we are committed to building a culture of belonging. To support this, we will be celebrating “Start With Hello” week, starting September 16th. The week will include assemblies and activities designed to encourage inclusion and help students contribute to a positive, welcoming environment—and we’ll have a little fun along the way!

Lastly, a friendly reminder to keep the far-right arrival lanes clear in the mornings for staff, Safety Patrol, and Before Care. Your continued attention and cooperation in carline are much appreciated.
